After
rain, rain and more rain,
the Under 7's finally got
their season under way with
a game at BAC and it was
worth the wait.
After an even start BAC took
the lead with a well taken
goal from close range.
Villa's heads didn't drop
and they continued to press,
creating a number of chances
before captain Jack
Groundwater took the ball on
his chest and equalised from
close range. Villa didn't
look back from this point
and took control of the
game. Alex Owen then made it
2-1 after a cross from James
Andrews. James then made it
3-1 with a powerful shot
into the corner of the net.
Half time arrived with Villa
3-1 up.
BAC came out for the second
half and played very well,
putting in some excellent
tackles and looking to pass
the ball. A couple of good
chances went begging from
BAC but it was Villa who
grabbed the next goal. Joe
Nolan cut inside from right
midfield and finished well
to put Villa 4-1 up. It was
long until Villa made it 5-1
through Stuart Burgess and
then Tom Stewart broke away
down the right side,
delivered a fantastic cross
which James Andrew
powerfully finished. Alex
Owen then set up Stuart
Burgess, the goalkeeper was
unlucky after an excellent
save but Stuart tapped home
to make the score 7-1.
Picking a man of the match
would be hard as the whole
team played so well. BAC
also must be thanked for
making us feel very welcome
and, despite the score,
playing extremely well in a
very entertaining game.
