Villa produced one of their best displays of the season and recorded their highest score with this emphatic victory.

The game started slowly as both sides looked to seize the early initiative.
On five minutes Rhys Crombie and John Winstanley combined well on the left only for the final cross to drift wide. With ten minutes played Villa were starting to assert themselves. Sean Parkin cut in from the right, his shot was blocked for a corner, from the kick Lee Chambers headed against the crossbar. Villa's momentum continued to build and the breakthrough came after twenty minutes. Elliot Dunn released Villa's prolific goalscorer John Winstanley with a perfect through ball, he then continued his rich vein of goal scoring form with a low shot into the bottom corner.

The goal deflated the home side as Villa pressed home their advantage, Liam Conway nearly made it two as the keeper saved at his feet, then Elliot Dunn saw his shot saved by the keeper. On the half hour Euxton scored their second, they were now attacking in numbers, a flowing move saw the ball into the Fleetwood box, Elliot Dunn was unlucky to see his shot come back off the post, as the home defence tried to scramble the ball away it fell to Lee Chambers on the edge of the box, his well hit shot found the net off the inside of the post.

It was now very much one way traffic as Villa looked to increase their lead, they did this on forty minutes. James O'Loughlin played through Liam Conway on the right, he cut inside, skilfully evading two tackles before driving the ball into the bottom corner of the net.

Villa started the second half determined to build on their first half display, with three minutes gone Liam Conway attacked down the right before finding Sam Shone who nearly made it four with a chip shot. He came close again on fifty three minutes, again set up by Liam Conway's work on the right, this time the keeper managed to tip his shot over the bar.

With an hour played Villa did get a fourth. They were awarded a free kick just outside the box, Lee Chambers took the kick and the ball flew into the top corner with the keeper unable to get near to it. The visitors continued to press and in the space of two minutes they twice more hit the woodwork.
Pete Ryder picked the ball up on the edge or the area, he then rattled the crossbar with a ferocious shot, two minutes later he came close again as his header came back off the crossbar following a Liam Conway cross.

On seventy five minutes the floodgates opened, a one two between Mick Bradshaw and Danny Brown opened up the home defence allowing Danny Brown to hook home the fifth. Two minutes later Liam Conway and Elliot Dunn created an opening for Pete Ryder who beat the keeper with a low shot inside the post. Things just got worse for the home side as with under ten minutes remaining Villa were awarded a penalty for handball. Lee Chambers took the kick and completed his hat-trick with a low shot inside the post.

Villa were not yet finished and made it eight with four minutes left, Liam Conway was again involved as his shot spun off the keeper and Pete Ryder following up turned the ball in. On the day Villa were very strong in all area's of the team with this very satisfying performance.
