Euxton Villa F.C - Match Report
  Lancon Jnrs v Euxton Villa 2pm K.O Sunday 4th May 2008

Last game of the season, 3rd place in the league secured, Jamie G captained the team in a new formation. The rain held off …which is just as well, we didn’t need the grass to be any longer.

1st Half
A good start by both teams but it was Villa who applied the pressure from the start. Lancon being awarded the first free kick after 2mins. Villa won the first corner on 7mins with a good surging run from Steven. Despite the pressure Villa had to wait till Charlie took his opener.0-1.17mins.
It looked like it would open up the game but it didn’t Lancon always looked threatening with some great balls through but the ball ran faster than the legs otherwise Villa would have been in trouble. And it was on 29mins when Lancon made the equaliser. 1-1. Ryan M’s hand was only a smidge away from pushing it wide and all credit to him by trying. Villa had dominated the first Kyle looked strong supporting Alex in central defence but Villa had sat deep and lost possession a number of times and whilst it was probably slightly unfair result based on the work & effort it was to be even at the whistle.

Half Time 1-1
George & Dave were ok with the effort and slightly disappointed with the result. Pointed out to the Villa sometimes it seems unfair but keep their heads up and the result will come. Changes were made:
Smithy, Sam & Tom G came on in their usual positions
Greg, Kyle & Steven came off to make way.
Will took over in nets as Ryan M took a position in attack.

2nd Half
Villa pushed forward, holding the line at the back, they took control from the off and it was Charlie who signalled his intentions by taking a second. 1-2.1min.
Smithy had one cleared off the line on 8mins. Time and time again Sam fed Danny who burst forward to show a display of first class crossing the result of which was Charlie taking his hat trick.1-3.12mins.
Another run by Danny & Sam won the corner that fed , who else, Charlie, it was his fourth. 1-4. 13mins. Not to be out done Smithy from the right, supported by Jamie A made a brilliant cross to find Charlie’s head. 1-5. 17mins.
Villa had the run of the game but as if to warn them Lancon stepped up and slotted in a second. 2-5. 20mins.
Jamie A came off and Kyle went back on.
The pressure was applied and some chances went astray and it was another 12 mins before Smithy slotted home his first and Villa’s 6th. 2-6. 32mins. Charlie made it 7 right on the death. 2-7. 35mins.

Full Time 2-7
A great way to end a great season, well done boys. Fabulous
