LFA Cup
Well after a travel up the motorway and after a couple of
lads forgetting their boots (Steve J and Chris) and had to
go back for them!! we arrived at Heysham! Blue star where
generally unknown to Villa! the pitch was smaller in width
than we had been used to but in the usual Villa fashion we
got on with it.
Villa started really well and within the first 3 minutes we
where awarded a free kick on the left and Kane stood up well
and neatly put it into the back of the net from about 25
yards the keeper had no chance 1.0 then 4 minutes later Josh
B put a great corner over to the back post and Stev J put
the goal away 2.0. On the 12 minute mark Connor had a good
run with the ball and put over a great cross from the right
to be met by Dom who put it away neatly 3.0 then on the 15
minute mark James D battled well in the midfield and managed
to get the ball through to Danny, the ball took a deflection
from the Blue star defender and went in (own goal says the
ref) but if not for Danny persistance then the defence would
not have struggled ! 4.0 Steve J had a great shot saved by
the Blue star keeper on 18 minutes and then on 26 mins
another good save from Josh B, 2 minutes later Stve J did
some good work in midfield and a through ball to James D
great goal 5.0
A very good first half from Villa great
passing work a great team effort.
Second half saw 3 changes from the bench Villa well in
command and again the managers wanted to give everyone a
chance
Second half started and Blue star came out quicker and a bit
of a scare but our defence were up to the challenge and the
ball went straight down to the other end where Chris turned
a great cross in for James M to put away 6.0 although the
second half did not show as many goals we were always in
command of the game and it gave Paul and Steve a chance to
try different players in different positions, James M put a
great finish away 5 minutes from time to complete a great
win 7.0
As I am stood at the defence end of the game I see more
defensive work and I have gotta give credit to Kane who
played really well today and a goal to boot,
Well done all the lads the best game of the season so far
Man of the match: James D
