Well this was always going to be a tough game based on last
year’s fixtures and our first game of the season away!
The Manager was away on holiday!! Paul did a very good job
in getting the boys ready for the game, no referee turned up
but Shevington had a substitute (and fair to say he did very
well) so with half an hour delay the game started and Villa
came out of the blocks the quickest within the first 10
minutes Josh put over a great cross to Connor and he hit the
ball sweet but it hit the bar.
Our midfield put theIr defence under pressure and when they
passed it back to theIr own keeper it took a serious bobble
and it went under his foot 1.0 own goal.
Josh put a couple of great corners in but we just couldn’t
put it in the net, Danny had a great turning shot which
narrowly missed the post. Shevington had a good corner but
George managed to clear well with the head, Matty did a
couple of good clearances one that got Paul’s heart racing a
little too much!
First half was certainly Villa
The second half started just as Paul had told the lads it
would do Shevington came out fighting!!Matty made a great
save within the first few minutes and another attack by
Shevington thwarted, our defence did a great job in keeping
the attack at a distance, we then attacked theIr defence and
Connor was taken down in the box and penalty! Connor stood
up and sweetly put it in the corner, 2.0 Steven J had a
great shot just over, Lewis made a good switch from right to
left finding Craggy who took aim and struck the ball well,
the keeper could only parry it into the path of the ever
waiting Connor, 3.0 a great corner from Craggy was met by
theIr defence only as far as Connor who does not need a
second chance “hat trick”
Well done to the lads everyone had a part to play in what
was a good game.
Man of the match James Daniels.
