Euxton Villa F.C - Match Report
  EUXTON VILLA  4  -  6  LONGRIDGE

Episode 4 –                        Its Only Football HONEST! (MATCH REPORT)

Once again mums and dads, boys and girls we find ourselves leaderless with Coach now in solitary in Royal Preston!  Against the best that Longridge can muster, Euxton try to defend their home record.  We have the good people of PC World to thank for this weeks report – it’s only football HONEST!

Our starting line for this week was Goalie Luke, Defence Aedan, Ben, Midfield Thomas G, Kallan, Attack Connor & Capt Jack. Subs Aaron, Jack D, Thomas, Oliver.

From the off Euxton made their presence felt with a fine display of passing which saw Connor making a break to find Capt Jack in space who drilled home goal number 1.  Euxton harried Longridge hard in order to try to keep pressing forward, Capt Jack hit a long ball forward to find Thomas G whose attempt was just wide of the mark.

Longridge start to find some form and made their break for glory only to be curtailed by Ben in defence, Kallan picked up the lose ball and drove forward but was brought down just shy of the penalty box foul. Up stepped Kallan to try his luck but it was forced out wide for a corner.  Longridge cleared and caught Euxton short of men in defence and forced the equaliser.  Euxton started the changes which saw Jack D on for Ben, and again quick pressure from the restart saw Euxton navigate down into enemy territory for Capt Jack to slot home number two for Euxton.

At the mid way point in the first half saw change number two with Oliver replacing his brother Thomas, Longridge took advantage of the reshuffle to try their luck on goal but to no avail. With ball in hand Luke fired a rocket which found Capt Jack but his attempt was just wide of the mark.  From the goal kick Longridge fought up field only to be stopped by Connors challenge but Euxton could not clear and Longridge levelled the match 2-2.  Change three saw Aaron replacing Connor, with minutes to half time both Capt Jack & Oliver force a Longridge retreat but could not finish their respective attempts on goal.

A half time change saw Thomas entry to fray in Capt Jack’s place. With the wind behind; Euxton needed to make it play to our advantage but it was not to be and mix up saw Longridge take the lead 2-3.  Longridge put Euxton under mounting pressure but Jack D stud his ground and defended valiantly to clear the Euxton lines, again Longridge came forward and this time found the net to go 2-4 up.  We needed fresh legs, Aaron made way for Capt Jack and Connor returned for Oliver.

Goal! What a return to action, Capt Jack made his presence felt to waltz forward and find Kallan in space who didn’t miss this time - game on 3-4.  Euxton started to look like they had risen from the break and this week’s hat trick man Capt Jack fired Euxton level with a darting run between Thomas and Connor who laid up Jack to fire home 4-4.

Longridge came back hard with Thomas making some fine tackles, setting Euxton on the way forward for Jack D to fire just wide of the mark.  In what was to be a close finish Longridge broke forward to try and grab the game, Euxton by then had started to give a little too much space and they found the net 4-5.

Lee made his final move bringing back Ben for Jack D and Thomas G replacing Thomas.  Euxton tried hard to drive forward in search of an equaliser but it was not to be this week.  Longridge wrapped up the game with a gaol which appeared not to have hit the net, but without Si TV on hand to verify the replay it was given.  Euxton lose their home record 4-6.
