Euxton Villa F.C - Match Report
  Bamber Bridge  0 - 4 Euxton Villa

Anybody seen Coach today?

Before we go into the game, Mr Reporter would like to say thanks to ALL the boys for a making his debut in coaching a winning one, but he know resigns from the post of stand in coach!!! I’m leaving before I get fired!!

Today saw our first away match of 2008 to Bamber Bridge, so we travelled with a squad ready for action.  Luke in goals, Capt Jack ad Aedan in defence, the midfield dynamo’s of Thomas G, Kallan and Connor and our lone striker Oliver G, waiting in the wings we had Jack G, Jack D and Ben.

To the match and with a very heavy pitch it was always going to be a stop start affair with plenty of mud to slow the ball.

First Half - Euxton started very brightly with the boys sweeping up field to pressurise the Bamber Bridge keeper early and with the constant jibber jabber from Mr Reporter on the touchline I think the boys got the message to play wide and get the ball into the box.

It was all Euxton in attack which led to them being camped in the Bamber Bridge goal mouth for several minutes but could not come way with a score.  Firstly Oliver missed then Kallan and then Connor with the ball coming to a stand still in the goal mouth, the Bamber Bridge keeper managed to scramble the ball away for a corner or save it.  Euxton’s pressure was relentless and the corners kept on coming with Capt Jack firing them into the area for the three midfield men to run on too.

With the first half coming to a close it was the left footed general Kallan that gave first blood to Euxton with a break away Connor  found Kallan in space for him to keep his shot low and guide it into the bottom corner and a 1 nil lead.

Second Half - All change! Off came Thomas G and Oliver G, to be replace by Jack G and Jack D and Capt Jack moved up front and off we went.

With a great first half under our belt and the boys making all the play it was much of the same for the second half. Starting with Capt Jack getting the freedom to roam he took up the mantle to keep the ball wide and fire in the crosses for Jack G and Kallan to feed off, shot after shot made the mark but only for their keeper to save or put out for more corners.

Goal number two came soon after the restart with a goal mouth scramble and Jack G squeezed home through the keepers legs 0-2 Euxton.

With Euxton know in control Ben replaced Aedan and we continued to show great use of the width of the pitch to fire those crosses into the centre.  It was a barn storming run by Capt Jack from a rare Bamber Bridge attack which put Connor in the position to slot home goal number three and give a high five to Mr Reporter on the way back to the middle!

Another change saw Thomas G replace Kallan, this in turn led to Thomas and Capt Jack showing their passing skills to bring Euxton up field and weave into a position where Connor could finish the game with his second goal and claim this weeks Man of the Match award.

The game ended 4-nil to Euxton, great game had by all.
