We start
by saying a big thank you to
our new Team Sponsor

Morris’s Quality
Bakers of Coppull
who are the North
West's finest bakery
|
(that
should get us some cakes
boys!), once again thanks,
the team looked fantastic in
their new kit.
On to the game, and with a
defeat to revenge, we took a
small arm to meet the
thunder truck crew of Red
Rose, I will need more paper
to remember everybody so
here goes, starting the
match was Luke, Aedan,
Jack G, Thomas G, Kallan,
Connor, Capt Jack, with
the Subs for today being
Oliver G, Jack D, Aaron,
Max, Thomas, Ben, Dylan.
With a muddy pitch and a nip
in the air we got underway
and the boys looked ready to
rock to the tune of Radio
Gaga. Kick off saw Capt
Jack and Connor combined in
the middle of the park to
spearhead an attack on the
Red Rose goal with the wide
men of Thomas G and Kallan
thundering down the flanks
in a rear guard action only
for our first attack on goal
to be just wide of the
mark. This was to set the
tune for the match and
“Things can only get better”
for the Euxton team who
where at the ready to
deliver the news bulletin
early today.
Euxton forced the corner but
from the kick the match was
stopped when Thomas G took a
knock to the mouth and was
subbed for Jack D. From the
restart Red Rose started to
press forward but a solid
defence saw Capt Jack take
the ball and head goal bound
to shimmy passed the last
defender and slot home, 1nil
Euxton.
From the restart Red Rose
tried to come forward but
today’s midfield general
Connor showed them how
Euxton weren’t about to give
them a clean break by
rocking back to defend our
goal. With ball at feet
Connor swept his way up
field combining with the two
Jacks to fire home and give
Euxton a 2 nil lead.
Half time approached with
Euxton giving space for Red
Rose to try and retrieve a
goal but they could not
break Euxton with all the
boys sharing in the valiant
defensive stand.
It was time to turn the dial
and retune to Chorley FM
with the second half
underway Euxton were put
under fire from Red Rose but
with his mentor sunning his
bones in Tenerife, goalie
Luke stud up to the test
with a fine display of
keeping, which kept them at
bay for the moment. With a
thundering kick downfield by
Luke Kallan took off for
goal only to be fouled just
outside the box free-kick!
Now it was “Hammer Time” up
stepped Capt Jack to thunder
it in to the bottom right
hand corner of the net for
his second of the day and
give Euxton a 3 nil lead.
With a lead Dylan rang the
changes over the next couple
of minutes with Oliver G,
Aaron, Max, Thomas and Ben
taking to the field to
replace Jack G, Aedan,
Kallan, Connor, Capt Jack
but still Red Rose could not
make an impression on the
game. Throughout this
period in the game Euxton’s
defence gave nothing away
with Luke producing a number
of fine saves to keep us in
a comfortable position.
The clock had started
running down but still
Euxton kept up the pressure
and broke forward to find
Oliver G in space to drill
home goal number 4 and
return Euxton to winning
ways. It wasn’t to end just
yet and long range high shot
by Red Rose gave the final
score line of
4-1 to Euxton.

Today’s Man of
the Match was Connor
given for his non
stop running and
working for the team
well done. |
Next week’s game sees us
welcome the Red Army of
Tarleton to Euxton, so make
sure those boots are clean
and ready to fire us to
another victory.
