Euxton Villa F.C - Match Report
  Euxton Villa  6 - 2  Longridge Town

Mid Lancs Colts u10 premiere League      Sunday 18th March 2007

Kick off 10.0am

First fixture using the new super changing rooms, and the timing couldn’t have been better. The weather was unbelievable, snow ,hail and very very strong winds ,the heated facilities were a  huge welcome.

After securing the goalposts to the ground (again) Euxton kicked off ( and so did the hail) . The boys pushed forward straight from the kick off and into their box, Nicky and Liam exchanged passes forcing a number of tackles, the ball fell loose to a prone Liam who poked it home 1-0. Coping with the conditions was a major problem for both teams and it was no surprise that Longridge picked up a loose ball and managed to equalise.1-1 This spurred the boys on, and using the wind to their advantage Robert scored twice, Nicky scored twice and Liam scored again. 6-1 and half time.

Both sets of boys were struggling to keep warm and getting used to the wind, Longridge kicked off and using the wind advantage soon had Tommo producing some excellent saves although he was unable to stop Longridge pulling one back 6-2. Longridge kept piling on the pressure, with our defence struggling to get the ball out of our half. Longridge came close with a couple of efforts, Matthew clearing superbly one effort off the line.

Final Whistle 6-2 , whilst not one of our better performances by a long chalk, but the weather was unbelievable and played a big part for both teams. Still we came away deserving the 3 points, 2 games to go, we need to win them both to secure the title. The boys showing the same commitment as today can do it!
