Lostock Hall 3 Euxton
Villa 3
Weather was fantastic, the boys were in
upbeat mood following their last game and we were all
looking forward to a good game. How wrong can you be? The
boys started off very well dominating large areas of the
pitch and soon went 1 up thanks to a goal from Robert. We
continued to dominate and despite some bizarre and
unconsistant refereeing we went in at half time 1-0 up.
The second half started as the first half
had finished, with us dominating and a second goal from Liam
seemed to have eased the nerves. Lostock scored following a
defensive slipup but we still looked comfortable. However,
we switched off, stopped talking to one another and gave
away further 2 soft goals (including an own goal from
Liam……no Liam that doesn’t count towards a hat trick). All
decisions were going against us and this really effected our
normal passing game. The boys really were more concerned
about some of the refereeing decisions, lost concentration
and as a result we “conceded” a further goal. The goal came
as a result of cross which was headed goalwards by one of
our backs and “cleared “ off the line by Barney. The referee
decreed the ball had crossed the line and awarded the goal,
when clearly it hadn’t. Unbelievable!!! 3-2 down and 5
minutes to play.
The injustice of it finally spurred the
boys forward and Liam latched onto a great through ball from
Bradley and netted…..justice.
We really should have won this game
despite the provocation and it was a case of 3 points lost
as opposed to 1 point gained.
