Euxton Villa F.C - Match Report
Tarleton Corinthians 0  Euxton Villa 2

Match Report U12s vs Tarleton Corinthians 3rd December

Euxton returned to the scene of their worst performance last season (a very costly defeat) in very difficult conditions. The match was only just playable with a ferocious wind blowing diagonally across the pitch.

We were grateful for the return of James G after Stevens injury last week and James D falling ill on the night before the game.

Kicking against the wind Euxton had it all on to get the ball into the Tarleton half during the first half but by cleverly keeping the ball on the floor they did manage to create 2 or 3 chances that we could not capitalise on.

The priority for the first 35 minutes though was about keeping the Tarleton team at bay and the team did well. Matty only made 2 saves as a result. A goalless first half was a victory in itself.

The second half just needed us to make use of the wind and after just 2 minutes Josh made a create run beat his man, drew the keeper and poked it home. It was just what we needed.

Craggy completed the scoring with a hard drive from inside the box, which with the wind behind the keeper had no chance of saving.

Once we were 2-0 up both teams seemed to settle for getting home and into a hot bath – it was freezing!

Good to get the points and get home.
