Match Report U12s vs Cadley 8th October
Euxton were disappointed not to come away
with a win from this game – though Cadley would feel that
they had a chance to win it themselves.
Euxton were on top in the first half and
took a deserved lead when Steven opened the scoring with a
great finish. Euxton continued to press and had 2 or 3
chances to take a 2-0 lead but failed to take them. Whilst
Cadley had not caused too many problems you did suspect that
we might regret not taking the 2 –0 lead.
In the second half the Cadley team
pressed forward and had the better of the game. Euxton's
defence were holding out well when the Cadley centre forward
“won” a penalty – to say the least it looked a harsh
decision.
To be fair later a more clear cut
decision in the box went our way and so they were probably
evened out.
Euxton had a chance to win the game right
at the death when the referee gave a free kick level with
the penalty spot. Unfortunately, instead of hitting it hard
at goal were over elaborate and let Cadley off the hook.
It was hard earned draw by both sides
