Match Report U12s vs Ladybridge 6th September

These two teams knew each other well having played each other 4 times last season. All of these were competitive and close games and we all expected this to be the same.

In end it really was a “game of two halves”. Euxton came in 2 –0 down at half time after conceding direct from a free kick on 19 minutes and then failing to pick up runners from midfield after 30 minutes. Given the challenge Ladybridge represented last season, and after the opening day heavy defeat, Euxton were up against it.

After 50 minutes Josh worked hard to deliver a great cross for Connor to head home and the comeback had started.

On 70 minutes James D hit a firm drive from the edge of the box to bring the sides level and then with 2 minutes left to play Connor picked the ball up on the halfway line ran at the defence before cutting inside to finish.

This was a fantastic win given the comeback required and all credit to the Ladybridge management who were full of praise for our boys in defeat.

The season is up and running.
