Euxton recorded their biggest win of the season to date, and moved to the top of the table following this very impressive performance.

Coppull started the game well and looked very lively as they moved the ball around putting Villa under early pressure. Gradually the home side started to take control and came close to scoring after 17 minutes when a Guy Clarkson corner was headed towards goal by Sam Shone, the effort was cleared with Villa players claiming the ball had crossed the line, but play continued. Villa were not to be denied for long as a minute later a Guy Clarkson free kick found Adrian Briggs whose shot rebounded from the Keeper to Heath Broadbent who calmly guided the ball home.

The game was still quite tight and on 25 minutes Shaun Gibbs had to be alert to prevent an equaliser. Villa increased their lead five minutes later, a superb ball out of defence by Brad Dowling dropped over the Coppull back four allowing Adrian Briggs to outpace defenders before sliding the ball under the keeper for 2-0. Villa were now moving the ball around well and on 43 minutes an intricate passing move allowed John Winstanley to turn the ball into the path of James O'Loughlin who made no mistake. Two minutes later John Winstanley got on the score-sheet, from a throw-in Sam Shone laid the ball off to him, and he drove it into the bottom corner. Coppull had worked hard and the two goals late in the half obviously deflated the visitors.

Coppull reorganised at half-time, but were caught out again within five minutes of the re-start as John Winstanley found himself in acres of space on the right, his accurate ball in was turned into the net by Heath Broadbent. The visitors responded three minutes later when a high ball into the Villa box was not cleared allowing Coppull to pull a goal back with a good rising shot. They nearly claimed a second two minutes later when Shaun Gibbs had to make a superb one on one save. This was Coppulls best spell of the game and just as they started to push on Villa hit them with a deluge of goals due to ( so he says ) manager Mark McHugh's inspired substitutions.

On 60 minutes Anton Martin made a great surging run into the box before laying the ball off to Adrian Briggs who in turn found Mick Bradshaw who shot home via the underside of the crossbar. With 70 minutes gone Craig Chambers and Graham Chatterly linked up well on the right to set up John Winstanley, his shot was saved, but Anton Martin following up drilled the ball low into the net.Two minutes later skipper Craig Chambers got in on the act as he cut into the box before scoring with a low drive across the

keeper. With 15 minutes remaining Anton Martin chased a ball into the box, the Coppull keeper was unable to hold onto the ball and it fell to Mick Bradshaw who hooked it into the net.

Villa continued to press and Anton Martin claimed his second goal of the game on 80 minutes when he was first to a cross into the box turning the ball into the net. Euxtons final goal came on 85 minutes when Graham Chatterly picked up the ball midway in the Coppull half, he neatly avoided two tackles before driving a left foot shot into the roof of the net. All credit to the visitors who kept going and came close on 88 minutes when Shaun Gibbs had to turn a free kick around the post. The highlight of the game came after 16 minutes, when under pressure, Ross Dickinson headed the ball against his own bar before volleying the rebound clear, defending at it's most sublime. Finally while not among the goals Rhys Crombie put in a rock solid performance at the back for

Villa as once again an all-round team display ensured the points.
