Bamber Bridge 0  Euxton Villa 7

As this was the last game of the initial group stage , it was a good opportunity to use all our squad and we made some changes to the starting line up to do just that.

It quickly became clear that Bamber Bridge were going to defend in depth and it was one way traffic for most of the game.

After 5 minutes Dominic scored with a great drive from outside of the box after a corner was cleared. The rest of the first half saw plenty of attacking football but we were not really in the groove with our finishing . A goal from Steven after a good run into the box was the only other goal of the half.

Five minutes into the second Matthew scored with a free kick that he put around the wall with style. We used 5 substitutions and its fair to say that the game became a little scrappy and, understandably at times, the shape of the team was not quite right.

Lewis scored a good goal after an excellent pass from Joe and Josh scored when he took the ball off Joe's feet after he had made a strong run into the box.

Joe was rewarded for his "assists" when a fine pass from Josh set him up and he finished well.

The final goal was scored by George who had positioned himself well to receive a free kick from Myles (note spelling) and scored with a left foot shot.

The pleasing thing about this game was that we managed to get a number of the boys who had been used as a substitute previously a full game and  they took their chances to impress. This shows that our strength is in the squad not the team .We tried players in different positions and scored 7 goals from 7 different players.

Well done to Thomas who deserved to be Man of the Match
